Banned in Atlanta

I've been posting for a while now on Right from the Heart ministries forum, which is part of an Atlanta mega-church. They advertise on secular radio and have the stated goal of interacting with the secular world.

I guess my interaction was a little too much for them. Been posting there for about a year, mostly respectful low-key stuff.

Here is the thread that got me banned.

Those Christians on there are just deluding themselves. I like how one makes the assumption that nothing other that Satan or pride could possibly influence atheists to debate god. The rest seem so authoritarian to me. That's part of the reason I'm agnostic. 'Read the bible or you go to hell and God will damn you, etc.' The thing about raising kids seems so commensense to me. Yet everyone acts as if they need something like god to tell them the obvious.

I saw your post last pm. looks like they nixed it this morning. too bad. you made a good point

Thanks for speaking out though. I am sick of these people getting their way. They used to be able to silence us by force. Now they just delete anything that might jeopardize their world view.

What pisses me off is that they SAY the whole purpose of the site is to reach out to the secular world- yet when the "secular world" talks back they silence us.

I'm sick of these people lying their asses off and never being confronted.

Of course they start off with the impression that the secular world is spiritually thirsty and that an absence of spiritual water makes people receptive somehow of the Christian 'good message'.

I'm not sure how you managed to post there so much, those sites always hurt my brain. Plus things about controling your kids always irritate me, especially when it's silly religious stuff. Out of those three questions they asked, the only one that is actually important is the last one about "Will it bring them harm". The second one is retarded and makes me cry and laugh at the same time.

I got a chuckle from that. I used to post in christian forums, get booted and come right back with a new screen name. it was fun but I got bored after a while. its kind of disheartening really, there was a particular post in that comment thread that just made me sad, these people are so delusional.

someone should post in there that they can have conversations HERE without getting deleted.
also, you might try searching the way back machine (http://www.archive.org/index.php), maybe they caught your post?

You can commit rape without committing adultery or coveting- marital rape. It's actually pretty common- but that's how they do everything- if it really confronts their worldview, they turn their head and argue like they already made a real point against it. Kudos to you Erik for sticking with it that long- what's your motivation?
