Hello, as another topic of interesting discussion what are your most convincing responses to common Christian theistic arguments such as...
The cosmological argument
The ontological argument
The transcendental argument
The moral argument
The teological argument
and...
The resurrection of Christ argument...
In a day or so I'll give my top responses to these arguments. Anyway thank you all for your time and responses. Take care. |

You can devote entire threads to some of these arguments. The following link, for instance, is just on the KCA...
Wiliam Lane Craig Infinite proof for god
Others, like the Teleological argument, are just pure rubbish on face value. Nature doesn't exhibit the need for an over-mind to operate. It's pure question begging. |

MG, is correct. There are long and varied arguments pro and con with each of these arguments. If you want to sound convincing and appear knowledgeable beyond fellow believers you need to spend some time actually studying the arguments from both perspectives.
Make sure you distinguish the arguments from the premises. Then realize there can, and are, extensive discussions surrounding the premises. There is often confusion in this area. |

A.K.A. the Empty Tomb Argument. "What about the empty tomb??" they cry, as if that proves anything. What empty tomb? Where is it? How do you know it had any corpse at all in it, let alone a corpse belonging to a guy named Jesus? (Or Yeshua, or Jehosaphat, or whatever the hell his name was.) Nobody actually saw Jesus resurrecting. How do we know the body wasn't stolen? There are probably thousands of empty graves all over the world, does that mean the bodies floated up into the sky? Why aren't we seeing cadavers drifting away like hot-air balloons all the time? "Holy SHIT, there goes Aunt Mabel! CATCH HER!" |

Well said Lois
They don't have an "Empty Tomb" what they have is a story in a book about an "Empty Tomb", which is most likely just another religious myth. |

The ONLY theist argument that works and what all the other arguments boil down to is faith.
Believe it because you believe it. |

And even that one doesn't work unless you already agree with the believer. |
