I couldn't agree more. There is not even a tiny thought in my fat head that my whole plan doesn't need to be thought out and spruced up a whole lot. But here's the problem, it isn't even my plan. I stole everything I wrote. There is not an original thought in the whole diatribe. And because it is a stream of thought derived from so many wonderful waaaay smarter people than myself, it is sometimes incoherent. I already said
it would be you and Wrath and Sowell, etc. and many, many more people like you that would or could make it happen.
I am obligated to give credit here to a brilliant man named Andrew Galumbos who said "Freedom is a product". We buy Coke and Pepsi because it is what is on the shelf. I don't see the slightest difference between religion, Coke and Pepsi. Nature or Nurture. Gene or Meme. I'll take fate. I got lucky. So did my daughter. We both got ok genes so we are still alive, and we both got good meme's so we can still ask questions and learn. It is all that matters. Live the questions. Newton did.
So, as far as I'm concerned,
I will go with achoo.
I think he's right. This tiny little corner of the universe and the few who will remember what was said here will mean nothing in the grand scheme. NIH. But you never know. Maybe some body in this topic like mlackey takes something from here that does make a difference and his youth and intelligence and connections make a difference. Maybe WrathJW writes the great book and movie and stars in it and magazines all over the world listen to his every word. He would be a great "spokesmodel". Marketing. After all HE ACTUALLY SAYS SMART THINGS AND ISN'T AFRAID TO SAY THEM. He is most certainly one of The Fearless.
The "selling" of the idea of "selling freedom" sounds like a tricky business. Too tricky for me alone or even all of us where fanatically devoted... kind of like cult members. The idea of marketing has a pretty bad rap anyway. People vote with dollars every day and never seem to grasp that the only reason anything works as well as it does is because we still have that one sure voting option, our right to choose who we give our money to. Even if someone is using a gun to take a fat, and often undeserved piece of it.
I too am so busy and am so far behind on my responsibilities I am beginning to feel guilty with every click of the keyboard. I have so much to do. I know no one reading this has any different situation than mlackey and myself. Living right now, right here is beyond anything 99% of all people who ever lived could have conceived or imagined. I am amazed any of you have stayed in this thread so long and must say to everyone here that I love you for staying. It gives me hope.
I want my daughter to live a happy life more than anything I can imagine. Even Heaven. How she is going to be happy if the world isn't? What does she do, hide somewhere? What about a nice guy to fall in love with, and a nice place with friendly happy people to raise some nice kids who produce more than they consume so they can help others?
We, and I mean all of us, are at least trying. Even Ralph cares. And some of us are actually working very hard on the problems. And I love you because you may be helping my daughter have a wonderful life. Very, very selfish. But because freedom IS a product, I would be willing to pay anything to possess it and preserve it for my daughter... and yours.
So, in honor of our fellow caring person Ralph, I would like to make a bold, throughly unsubstantiated claim and say,
"that some of you who have posted here in this topic will someday, not too too far in the future, remember this thread fondly and be proud of the fact that you participated."
Even Ralph.
Now how's that for "pompous blowhard"... or was it "conservative piece of crap"? I get confused.
I will respond for a few more days and then bid you adieu. Thank you

Gee grimey, you get to be the one who started it all. Lucky. Fate.

First thing... Warning, VIRGIN alert! This is my first post here, so please be gentle.
My friend, Everbleed, told me of this site. It's been a few days, and I'm not sure I have fully consumed this thread yet. But I have a number of thoughts, and not enough time tonight to do them justice.
I'll just offer one, on the topic of marketing under the Free Thought banner. (I hope this sub-topic can move to its own thread.) Everbleed and I have discussed various books in the past, but I don't recall if I have mentioned Barabasi's book "Linked - The New Science of Networks". When viewed in the context memes, I think it presents some marvelous tools for understanding how some campaigns spread like wild fire and others never get off the ground. Good book, if one is serious about using our social networks in "marketing" as described earlier in this thread.

Congratulations.
We busted 10,000 views. A record. Only 15 people and TIG never posted.
A small, but fine accomplishment.
Life is good.
