It's a shame you took it that way. I don't have any chips on my shoulder, seems like you and your friend are the ones with chips on their shoulders.

If you don't have a chip on your shoulder, then stop acting like it by saying things like "I'll update them as *I* see fit."

And I don't even know that guy - way to assume we're "friends". I just share his analysis, that you have an attitude. And you do. Lose it.

I mean honestly - how do you expect people NOT to think you have an attitude/chip on your shoulder when you:

A) Ignore compliments and don't thank people for the positive input that's there, and
B) Respond so arrogantly to the negative/constructive criticism?

All it would take to prevent people from having this perception of you is a little care in the way you choose to word your responses. Is that seriously too much to ask? It's hardly just me and "my friend" that share this analysis of your responses. MOST people can see what we're talking about. Only you seem not to be able to.

And, I'm still at a loss... what exactly is making it absolutely impossible or impractical to release at least a couple of podcasts per month?

Wow.. do you usually take things so literally?

Saying that I'll update them as I deem fit is a factual statement. Inflection is lost in text.. so anything negative you got out of it was created by you.

My statement stands..

As I deem fit. I suppose I'll add, and as I have the ability to do so.

I don't have a staff helping me with posting shows, processing mp3s, coding php etc.. updating rss feeds etc.

I'll post them as I deem necessary and fit to do so. They are free shows. There has never been a guarantee that the free show feed will reflect all of the latest programs.

I simply cannot even imagine me talking to anyone in this fashion. If my favorite youtubers were to never post a show again, I wouldn't behave this like. Sad, really is. It's not like I'm paying them to produce new material.

Then you sir, are a hypocrite. When you respond with a statements as curt and abrupt as "I'll update them as I see fit", and "Not again", you are not speaking to your listeners any more respectfully than how I was speaking to you. You were already "behaving like this" before I even posted my first reply. The problem here started with your attitude sir, not ours.

Since, as you pointed out, there is no inflection in text, you'd be wise to choose the wording of your responses with more care than you have a habit of doing. Maybe you just honestly don't have the social skills to recognize how arrogant and condescending your responses sound, I don't know. Talk about sad ....

When I was referencing "speaking in such a manner", I was referring to people being so demanding of free content. I have never ever been this demanding of a free supplier of content. Perhaps because I'm not ignorant of the work it takes to produce these programs.

I still will however update the free podcasts as I see fit to do so. You will not bully me into doing things your way.

Bullying you? Ok, now you're being an idiot in addition to being an ass. (Yep, that was an ad hominem and I'm not ashamed to admit it. Your complete lack of humility left you open to deserving a classic one.)

No one was bullying you, or saying anything to you that you didn't earn or deserve.

"You will not bully me into doing things your way" is just another PERFECT example of your lack of social skills and complete unawareness of how arrogant you really are (or at least sound).

You completely ignore positive input and, from what I've read, never thank anyone for anything that's a compliment.... and you have the nerve to get "discouraged" at all the negativity? Maybe you should contribute some POSITIVE feedback yourself (to your listeners who have good things to say) before complaining about the negativity of others.

For example, instead of responding with something like, "Ok, now that you pointed it out, I can see how what I said may have come across as abrasive and dismissive. Sorry bout that, I'll work on that...", all you do is show us that humility is something you have none of, by denying what's clear to everyone but you: Your responses ARE abrasive and dissmissive.

Had you just chosen to side with humility instead of ego, you would have won a true fan back instead of alienating one. Way to go Reg - super job. Keep it up.

Exactly.. I have no social skills what-so-ever and I'm an idiot and an ass. You win boss. Generalize much?

Now, If you excuse me, I'm still very ill yet I have about a dozen things to do today related to this site and a dozen more things related to my family.

I'm too old for this silliness.

Good day to you.

You win.

Wasn't generalizing. Was drawing a logical conclusion based on SPECIFIC things you said. That's pretty much the exact opposite of a generalization.

This is HIS podcast, HIS site, HIS work. No matter how much you bitch about this in that, in the end it's still his decision and his sacrifice.

Greyfax and others seem to have missed the economics course. If you want other people do things on your schedule, you generally need to pay them. If they are giving something to you for free, they get to decide when and where.

It's all these GIMME GIMME GIMME people who get uptight if things aren't coming on their schedule. I listen to a number of other free podcasts. If something happens to their schedule, I don't go around complaining. I might ask to find out what's going on, but they are not beholden to me.

I give money to IG because he is trying to make a living off this. Giving all your stuff away is easy if you have a well paying day job. For example, I write software. I don't give away my software. I need to pay the mortgage. I might do some free stuff on the side, but only as long as I have a real job.

I suspect Greyfax doesn't (or would not) give away all of his work for free.
