This does no good to people who don't speak that language.
Secondly, posting prayers on an atheist site is kind of like offering Jews pork. Now if you want to present us with evidence that your particular god exists, that would be more acceptable. But this is merely spamming and no matter the subject matter or the website one is posting on, most people don't like spam.
So do us all a favor and skip the prayers, and if you insist on posting in your native language, post an English translation for those who dont speak your language.

What I find interesting is the OP made these claims to his coworker as to the reasons for his non-belief, speaking of them as learned academic facts, and is now seeking evidence to back up his claims. Very telling indeed to pass off hearsay as knowledge AND receive support from the peanut gallery to boot.
You're both intellectually dishonest not only to your coworker but also yourself AND intellectually and academically lazy. All this just to reject God and attempt to lead someone off a cliff with you.

Back when I was pagan I'd counter offer to have ritualized animal sacrifice orgy to help them. Pretty disturbing but it gets the point across that doing your own religios ceremony "for" somebody else might not be appreciated. The tack I use is drawn from my own experience: I tried it, with all my heart and it didn't work. She claims that Jesus gave her warm fuzzies. Jesus never gave me warm fuzzies, so what should I do? "He helped me get off drugs." He never helped me do that. Put yourself in the position of religious shopper and make her compete with other religions. "Because the bible says it's true." Well, the Koran, Sutras and Magic scrolls all say they were true too, so how am I supposed to decide? And right there you got her to think critically about her religion, and that's a start.
Go ahead and test me out with good reason's to be a Xian, in case I've missed any in my life. In the end, if she can't give you a good reason to be an Xian then maybe she'll come closer to realizing there isn't one.

LOL you ever been cliff diving? I can be fun. I think you're being a bit harsh calling him "intellectually dishonest and intellectually and academically lazy". The onus isn't on him to be able to pull 10 sources out of his ass at the drop of a hat should, on some day, at his work, some Xian breech workplace etiquette and bring up religion. The fact that he is going back and asking his peers for references indicates just the opposite. You think she went back and asked her peers some reasons why atheism is wrong? Heck I'd lay even odds that she couldn't even name all 10 commandments.
"...and is now seeking evidence to back up his claims." satansballs... if you found out that the things you said were wrong would you fess up to it the next time you talked to her? If everybody on this forum said there was no pagan influence in the bible and that it was just one of those internet hoaxes and then you check on snopes.com and it was a confirmed hoax. Would you tell her the next time you talked about religion to your coworker?

If someone wants to pray for me, I don't make a big deal about it. They mean well, even if it is utterly pointless. Although I think, in the future, I might say something like, "Imagine that your prayer is the only one God will respond to for a whole year. Do you really want to waste that prayer on someone who isn't going to change their ways? Because I can think of a lot of hungry, miserable, diseased children who could use that prayer, instead." A response like that acknowledges their need to believe in prayer, but it makes them think a little, too, about where they want to place their priorities (or I like to think so, anyway. )

It annoys me when Christians say that they'll pray for you. I consider it an insult. Because what that really says is "I have absolutely disregarded your claims and all of your arguments however good they may be because you are completely wrong as you don't believe in god".

Things like this make me glad I go to my school. I would put cash money down that almost 50% of the student body is atheist/agnostic. Hell every single person on my trip with me in China (except one and I told her she was brainwashed [angry, not stupid. kinda regret it now]) is atheist/agnostic. Man I love CMU. Though I have had similar encounters with the monkey-brained morons from my hometown and I just stare at them in stunned shock that humans can be that stupid. They usually leave me alone after that. I'm all about helping people, but in my experience even the nice christians are too frustrating to be worth it. Sorry I know that doesn't help satansballs but I lost all my bookmarked sources when I converted to vista.
