imithotar, replace "women" with "latinos" or "black people" in your post and see how stereotypically racist it sounds.

I think Cygnus got it right when he said that "I don't like it when someone tells me what they think I should want." I also feel like my existence is being belittled when I'm told that I must be manipulative, stupid, and only good at pumping out babies, and that I should only want to take care of other people. I imagine that this is the same feeling that black people get when some white person uses the "N" word.

I can sort of understand imithohar's position because I was raised with the impression that all men ever wanted was a quick fuck, and that they would try to weasel their ways into my life for the sole purpose of getting me to "put out" so they could move onto the next victim.

Imagine my surprise when I discovered that the man I was about to date actually had feelings just. like. mine. and respected me as an intelligent person instead of just a vagina on legs. "Wait...I thought that all men were emotionless pigs who just wanted to use me for sex! Turns out they have feelings and wants and fears just like me! Wow!"

And, after having a discussion with one of the guys at work, I realized, that yes. Some men are pigs, too.
Just like some women are whores,
and some black people are thugs,
and some asians are good at math.

But to judge the whole group by the actions of a few and then say that you are not sexist because women ARE naturally inferior is both stupid and evil.

I didn't catch the show, but after seeing this thread, I just googled this guys name and saw his webpage, and sexist hardly describes him. he seems to not just think men are better, but he seems to hate women too.

I think this dick guy is an idiot.

however IG has debated many idiots on his show, including the phelps, hovind, and even david duke.

so unless IG was agreeing with this guy I don't see why folks are angry with him.

dick makes legit points and then takes them to the extreme to justify his bullshit.

its true that many feminists like making us more "equal" by making firefighters and such lower their standards so more women can get on.

however this doesn't justify a claim that women shouldn't allowed to be firemen. if the standards are where they need to be (based on what the job requires, and not politically correct quotas) and a woman can meet said requirements, then more power to her.

another example is feminist complaining about women doing most of the house work.

the guy makes a point I often make. yeah its because women often invent housework that is pointless like dusting a clean bookshelf. but then this nut says says women are slobs and can't keep anything clean.

what? okay so which is it? women are cleanliness nazis or slobs?

the guys good at mixing legit points with utter bullshit and try to make himself look less stupid.

IG could have held the guys feet to the fire a bit more but he clearly distanced himself from alot of the bullshit and even laughed at the guys silliness, so it seems to me folks are just pissed that IG let a guy come on and express views they disagree with.

to the folks angry with IG over this:

hate to break it to ya folks, but its not a crime to have and express views you don't share.

thats what debating is all about, and IG implored women (and men too), to call in and share their disagreements.

you had your chance. instead you are just mad because he even allowed this guy on? how dare he!

how dare he what? let a person with a differing opinion express himself and offer a chance for y'all to debate him?

my two cents

Years ago as a student teacher I enjoyed several of the mundane tasks of running a classroom: I graded tests and quizzes.

The girls in the class got better grades (by far).

As a restaurant manager I had similar experiences with my employees. I gave both men and women a group of tasks they had to complete (done verbally)

The women got their tasks done in order. The men had to be reminded what task number two was.

These are just two (unscientific) examples that conflict with his outlook on women. Before any of you ask, I am a man (a pathetic excuse of one if you ask my mother).

As for the attack on Reggie, I can only say that IG was being perfectly cool with this guest, allowing him to speak his mind and try to prove his points. IG did say that he agreed with some of his points and disagreed with others. That's a respectable host. Disagree with Todd Friel on his show and you don't get respect from him.

If Reggie interviews a woman in the future with the exact opposite point of view of Dick's, I'm sure IG would agree and disagree with the comments she would be making. At least Reggie allows his guests to speak; it earns him my respect.

What Dick forgot to take into account are the different learning styles of men and women. Part of the reason why girls are starting to get the upper hand in school is that the education style suits them better. The two sexes learn different. I think the examples that Dick gave favored men's styles of learning better. He also takes differences and makes decisions based on his personal preferences to say that men are better.

I cannot understand why anyone would get pissed off at IG for having an "offensive" guest on his show. IG has had far more offensive people on his show, so what's the problem?

Well, I enjoyed the show and thought he made SOME valid points that would apply to SOME male/female relations. So what's the big deal? Aren't we supposed to be "RATIONAL"? I think we're smart enough as listeners to weed out the crap. It'd be the same with any other interview Reggie has done. Why is this one different? Too offensive? I don't get why the extreme reaction here.

"workinprogress", as someone who has helped Reggie with the show in the past I can speak from experience - that it's feast or famine. Sometimes there's lots of people to interview and agree to from diverse topics and sometimes it's practically bone dry - as if speakers/authors/professors/whoever have all taken a vacation at the same time or have their itineraries full. When that happens Reg and his producer(s) get creative, have a listener pick the topic night or dig up cranks like the guy you're complaining about.

Reg's show, like others is afterall entertainment. It's usually far higher classed entertainment than other talk radio shows but it's still entertainment, so like he already said - don't take everything so seriously.
