I just listened to IG with a debate involving Mr. Hovind. I can't believe that people actually think this guy has a single ounce of credibility.

I was a bit ammused when Mr. Hovind became a bit defensive in the debate when the matter of funding came up. Basically stating that Pigliucci knew nothing of his funding.

Well aparently the IRS did!

My favourite Hovind quote -

"I don't want my tax dollars used to teach your religion" (talking about evolution)

Classic

that does bring up an interesting political question. should we force people to pay for things they oppose? (by taxing them and then using their money to pay for said thing they oppose)

for instance taxing me to pay for the iraqi war, or taxing hovind to support biology classes?

just thought I'd through that out there and see what happens.

Assuming we go the route of not making people pay for things they oppose, how do we get a workable form of government? I'd suggest we don't. The only answer is to grin and bear it while hoping the idiots get thrown out of office eventually..... Sound familiar?

There will always be someone waiting for the "idiots" to get thrown out of office. Nature of the old beastie.

Or vice versa. The point is that taxes don't work that way in that you can't pick and choose everywhere they go in a situation like this... There will always be those who object based on silly reasons like religion.

If Dr Dino is in a federal prison he might be getting off light in his incarceration. Maybe he can do a correspondence course to a widely accredited university.
