Voted yes. Much more dangerous health hazards are sold every day, no reason sex shouldn't be among them. |

It should not be illegal. Two humans should be able to what the fuck ever they damn well please to themselves, or a consenting individual or party.

Isn't it legal in Sweden or someplace? Like, it's considered a regular business and is taxed accordingly? Seems like a good idea. There's no way of ever putting a stop to it (unless we go all Islam on those people and stone 'em to death), so why not treat it as a business? Maybe medical testing should be required, too, to weed out the diseased. |

OSHA should shut it down for unhealthy exchanges of body fluids. |

In Nevada where it is legal, the prostitutes are required to complete medical check ups every 6 months. If the government could place a regulation on it such as this, then I feel it should be legalized for those who wish to partake in it.
It's not really a particular practice that I would engage in, but who am I to judge? I'm not a Christian. |

Furthermore, something that's even more ridiculous is that you can totally get around the laws by saying something like "I'm selling handshakes, and today with a handshake, the sex comes free." Scarily enough, that is legal.
And another point is if you film the sex with a prostitute, you could say that you were shooting a porn - thereby legal. Porn models are paid to have sex all the time. The only difference is that they are being filmed during the process. So film your sex and destroy the tape. How could they prove it was prostitution? |

It's her body to use as she sees fit. Keep government out of our sex lives-they screw us every which way and then tell us WE can't screw! |

I voted no. All the ills of prostitution can be directly linked to its illegality and the social stigma around it. Make prostitution legal and something you need to be over 21 with a state license to do and you take the pimps, the child prostitutes, and the abusive tricks out of it. Who would go to a street whore when you could go to a legal brothel regulated by the government where the girls were tested for STDs weekly and you didn't have to worry about getting busted by the cops or getting your head cracked open by a pimp? I live about two hours from Pahrump and I can tell you that compared to Vegas where prostitution is illegal, Pahrump looks like a Mormon community. There are no prostitutes wandering the streets, no tricks cruising the streets, and no pimps forcing young girls into prostitution. Legalize it, regulate it, and tax it. |

As long as the prostitute is paying taxes and staying clean of STD's, why not? |

I would say 18. If one can join the army and kill another human being at 18, then I say they should be able to get into a brothel. I'm not in favor of the government regulating everything. They should keep out of what we do in our bedrooms, what we smoke, and what we drink. Sure, make all the pimps and child prostitution illegal, whatever hurts someone else, but leave us individuals alone. |
