We have all heard of it. Some one is found as a scorch mark, legs intact furniture around them barely touched and yet they are cremated on the spot.

I just saw an awesome explanation. They took a pig carcass and wrapped it in a light blanket, placed it on a bed next to a TV stand. They lit the blanket and then something amazing happened.
The blanket burned rather fast, setting the pig’s fat on fire, the “wick affect” of the fat on the mattress kept a small 18” flame fire on the bed! The TV melted a bit but never caught fire. The carcass burned for over 6 hours and eventually the bone marrow burned the bones to ash! The lower legs are low in fat and they were spared. Something as simple as a cigarette or a candle can start it off. The person either falls and knocks themselves out or has a heart attack and Whalah, POOF no more person! temperatures reached over 800 Degrees without causing a house fire.

What a way to go!!

Yeesh.

Wow. I've always heard of that as a small kid, but I'd never really thought about it. I had always thought that people caught on fire internally for some weird reason whenever spontaneous combustion was mentioned.

By the way, nice way to spell 'voila'.

Strangely enough, there is always FIRE involved in these "spontaneous" combustion incidents--a fireplace, a cigarette, a candle, etc. People don't just burst into flames for no reason.
