Has anyone read it? I am reading it now, and while some of the technical stuff flies over my head, he does do a great job giving layman's examples and I have to say, so far, I am enjoying it a lot.

I have to say living in an isolated small town where everyone is a a believer, from left wing to right wing, reading this book is an oasis reminding me that I am not alone.

I haven't read that particular one. I used to read a lot of atheism books but I've sort of grown beyond it, unless something comes down with some new ideas or takes on things which I don't see happening.

Have you read An Anthology of Atheism and Rationalism ? It's a book I return to often.

The closest thing I have read to that title would be "2,000 Years Of Disbelief" by James A Haught. It highlights quotes from famous skeptics through history. Not just atheists, but people who weren't afraid to question. It goes all the way back to Epicurus, and America's founders, to activists, politicians, judges, and even actors.

I have that one. My wife gave it to me for Christmas a few years ago. Oh the irony! The Anthology I mention is very good because it is whole essays by various figures of what you could call modern atheism, from John MacKinnon Roberston and Bradlaugh to Smith. Some are bold defenses of atheism. Some are bombastic attacks on organized religion and the god idea. Some deal in a more scholarly way with the history of the bible and jesus.

Some of the best and most famous atheist writings are there. I highly recommend it.
