Basically, Obama is railing against the New Yorker for putting up a very obviously satirical picture that is meant to make fun of the far right. Seems to me that a candidate that truly cared about free speech would take something like this (ie. something that looks offensive but isn't) and think about it a little more before denouncing it. Or maybe I'm just overreacting. Thoughts?
PS Yes I am voting for Obama, realistically it is my best option and I agree with him on a lot of things (though if he fucks with NAFTA I'll flip a shit) |

It seems few people in this country really care about free speech anymore. I hope this election doesn't come down to choosing the lesser evil again. The guys at the New Yorker already explained the comic. I don't see why everyone doesn't get it. |

I don't think he's ever said they don't have the right to publish said cartoon, just that he doesn't like it. |

Does that really matter though? He is railing against the use of satiric comedy as free speech. I guess as long as he doesn't try to STOP it we have no real problem but it still worries me. Also, sorry for the wierd post times I'm in china |
