Or has Reggie been a lot more combative than usual lately? First the guy who sees demons and now this guy who takes UFO abductees at face value but says scientists pedal fairy tales...
Not that it's a bad thing, just something I've noticed. Not a trend- yet. Lets get Ken Ham on here, then it'll be a trend. |

I haven't really noticed. It could be perhaps because my sis-n-law was taken in by charlatans that almost cost her her life. It's possible I am more sensitive. However.. I thought it went over pretty well. I was just challenging his ideas.
I hope I was still polite overall. I don't want to start going down a dark path. lol |

Hah, I'm listening to the "Demons Are Real" show now, and wow, he describes a classic sleep paralysis episode and then insists that it couldn't be sleep paralysis, BECAUSE it was completely over when he was able to speak (which is another classic symptom of sleep paralysis).
And the drunk roommate, just wow.
What's the alien abductee episode? Is that one up too? |

The video's on the main page now, but the mp3 isn't ready yet. It's the Daniel Ott episode. |

Yeah, maybe it's just a couple of nuttier guests than usual- and you are polite, Reggie, you just don't give them much wiggle room.
And again, I have no problem with it (real or imagined on my part)- my crusade is mostly against Alternative Medicine (or, as the SGU called it, Crap Based Medicine). My best friend died of cancer after her parents chose to go the route of "Prayer and Flax Seed Oil" rather than treatment, which in her case had an 80% remission rate. So I completely understand how experiences like that can make you more sensitive. |

Dark Path? You are already there. You are an atheist. It is your mission to teach every good atheist how to properly barbaque kittens, how to draw a perfect pentagram, and which species of goat's blood to drink. And we all know you are a master at that. That, and you are a genious at infecting theists with atheist cooties. |

Oh brother... I was wondering when Reggie was gonna be really tough on the guy as was mentioned. Then it got to the creationism stuff. This guy spouted half a dozen of the most ignorant creationist cliches at near-Kent-Hovind pace. Actually, the "what are we going to evolve into next" thing was kinda new to me, but it rested on the same basic misunderstanding of how the phenomenon works that the worst YECists exploit.
Art Bell has the same "let anybody talk, take what they say at face value, and let the listener decide" policy, but at least he has some fucking sense. |
