Luckily this idiot is only getting like 5 Amens. I think I heard people walking out. What a fuck. Mixing some truth with racist ideology. So Obama's Mom is trashy just because she's white? I partially agree with him on AA though.

I thought, when I first heard this, that this clip was a joke.
I went through a few of the other clips on Youtube, and some of Pastor Mannings stuff is absolutely appalling! Manning, quite literally, is a dumb man.
Listen to the clip on the John Gibson show on FoxNews. He suggests that WEB Dubois was a racist because he suggested that only 10 percent of blacks are capable of functioning in American society. That is not what Dubois said (and anyone into civil rights should know that what Dubois said was that the top tenth of black intellects - "the talented tenth" - needs to pave the way for the rest.
He also suggests, on that clip and elsewhere, that Obama is not really that black because he has a white mother. (Is black a skin color, or a character trait? If the Pastor feels that it is the latter, then he shares much in common with the southern racists that turn his stomach.)
Now, I am not an Obama supporter, but I think that one of the best things about his campaign is that race is not an issue, where all other black candidates in the past have made it their only real issue. Isn't it refreshing to know that there is a black man that is capable of being voted president who does not limit himself to issues of 'blackness,' but talks about issues of 'humanness'?

Yes, it is refreshing. Honestly, I think this is one of the best approaches to get us humans of different shades to stop making value judgments based upon those shades.

I've been hearing this clip played on talk radio shows for the last couple of days here in CA. It's getting around, as it should. Love the internets. I too agree with him on Affirmative Action though. That's never worked in my brain.

Exactly. There has been way too much 'is Obama black enough' questions and 'is he authentically black'. Doesn't this suggest that we have to be 'races' instead of people? I liked Obama's speech on race that the media is afraid is going to kill him.
As for the pastor in the video, it was almost humorous, made me chuckle slightly. Howeer, it is disappointing that there are people who think like that so narrowly. In the words of Pink Floyd, he's nearly a laugh- but he's really a cry.
