Acharya has laid out this suggestion in her writing and I feel that she's made a correct association.

The way that the priests specifically wrote the emergence of Yahweh in the context of Moses being in the desert with the burning bush gives much of this away.

It puts the story around Egypt, where Isis, the "first and last" Goddess who declares that she is all that ever "was, is, or will ever be" came from. Here the priests are transferring this well known Egyptian mystery tradition into their own religious structure and leaving behind what appears to be very strong clues as to what has happened right in the context of the storyline.

I have no choice but to respect scepticism towards making this association, as I feel that it's always important to scrutinize these sort of claims as well. It's just that I honestly feel that this a correct association to make from what I've read thus far on the issue.

in supposedly comparing IAO and YHWH, every post ive read so far, here anyways, shows a true lack of understanding of ancient culture and the patterns and behaviors of the so-called civilized powers of the world in all of human history. FIrst is the assumption that YHWH is "borrowed" or usurped from the egyptian culture.
let us take into consideration that every major power in history has always "championed" the concept of being "civilized" and that they themselves were in fact the "Light of the world". That these cultures almost always had more technologically advanced societies is evident, however loose conduct and weak moral structure of these societies is more then enough evidence to show that none of them, themselves, fathered any origional concept of a God.
This is true of every major civilization in the middle east and the world for that matter. A close examination of any any ancient major religion shows a watered down, and almost cartoon like , variation of a far more strict and sober religion. One might point out that the egyptians and greeks and romans, ect... all had very elaborate systems by which they worshipped their gods. On the contrary. Their priests and religious " figureheads " in fact performed almost all religious type service for said society, leaving the people enmass with very little if any moral or ethical structure, as we understand it to be today.
This is not so, however in the hebrew culture, were every man woman and child faced execution by YHWH or another zealous one, for breaking even the least of the laws. This system kept an entire people far beyond their time in the realm of true " Civilization " and being civilized tward his fellow man.

Is it not more likely that the ridiculous and cartoonish figures, concepts, names of gods, and all around belife systems of these ancient so-called " civilizations " are in fact stolen and twisted TRUTHS of the more strict, and sober Religion of the Early Hebrew people???

Take the flood of the world. All religions have a version of it. All but one are completely ridiculous and not to mention scientifically impossible.

As far as Isis being an "I AM" goddess. thats funny. the hebrew Eheyeh Asher Eheyeh doesnt mean anything close to "I AM" Niether does YHWH.

Alph and Omega, first and last and, I A O unity, first and last. blah blah blah.

Isis Apophis Osiris

EE AHH OOH IAO compare YHWH Y=EE H=AH W=WA H=EH
YAHWEH, or YAHOWEH, whatever.
from the word HYHor HWH meanin to become, or becoming. an action word. the H in YHWH was not added to " change the meaning or hide it. the first 3 commandments in the hebrew scriptures show that a person is definetly supposed to know and use this name in petition to YHWH. YHWH = He causes to become, He causes, The Causer

It is clear to me, and most peopel, that the ancient egyptians as well as most eastern religions, if not all of them, stole, bumbed and borrowed from the hebrews AS EARLY AS THE BEGINING OF CIVIVIZATION. BABYLON.

the city where in all languages, and religions were confused and scattered across the world. All religions bear a resemblance to hebrew because all peopel were at one time one race and tounge. not vice versa.

All of your so-called "explanations" of this name sound more new age metaphysical and cartoonish compared to the the sober reality that every Religion in the world has stolen from the oldest Writings in the world. The Hebrew scriptures...

Hi David42262, I'm a moderator (Tat Tvam Asi) for author Acharya S.

She's been interviewed about astrotheology along with Dr. Price on the Infidel Guy radio show in the past. We recently started up a thread on the new PBS special about the origins of ancient Israel:

The Bibles Buried Secrets - PBS Documentary

http://www.pbs.org/wgbh/nova/bible/program.html
Quote:
The Bible is Myth?!

"In November 2008, PBS will air a TV special claiming that the biblical patriarch Abraham and his wife, Sarah, were not historical persons but were "myths." The documentary will also declare the fabulous Israelite Exodus to be mythical, rather than representing a miraculous "historical" event...."

I would recommend that you watch this program with a bit of an open mind because it's largely based on what the Jewish archaeologists working over in Israel have been discovering about the history of their own race. This isn't an outsiders view mind you. It turns out the Israelites didn't come a far off Ur, rather the evidence shows that were Canaanites who congregated around the hill regions following the collapse of the Canaanite city-state system. The Israelites were Canaanites according to Israeli archaeology. The God of genesis is the Elohim, which was a Canaanite pantheon called the sons of El.

Let us create man in our image according to our likeness...

Let us go down and confuse their language...

It appears that Yahweh had been infused into the pantheon and made one of the sons of El-Elyon, the most high. Later, we see a shift happening where Yahweh the son is elevated to the status of most high and the El-Elyon becomes a thing of the past. This makes perfect sense considering the evidence that the ancient Israelites were in fact the lower class of Canaanites grouping together and trying to form a sense of identity following the collapse of the Canaanite city-state system. It was mentioned in the program that all of the city-states answered back to an Egyptian authority. So we're dealing with a group of Canaanite people that had been subject to Isis (IS), Amen Ra (Ra), and the Elohim (El). So obviously they took the name Israel and created a mythic tale where Jacob is given the name "Israel" by God. The whole reason that Yahweh was eventually elevated to the supreme deity status is that the priesthood devoted to Yahweh rose in power and eventually were able to accomplish removing the other Gods of the pantheon, but this didn't happen over night. It took a long time. All the verses about Yahweh being a jealous god pretty much amount to the priesthood representing Yahweh wanting absolute power and control over the people:

If you're not too busy I would like to invite you to come and give your opion on our forum as well because we don't really have any Jewish apologists stopping by very often. We get a few Christian apologists from time to time but that's about it. Here's a link to our thread on this specific issue:

I'll discuss it with you both here and there if you'd like.

Wiki wrote:
The oldest known religious texts are Pyramid texts of Ancient Egypt that date to 2400-2300 BCE. The Epic of Gilgamesh from Sumeria is also one of the earliest literary works dating to 2150-2000 BCE, that includes various mythological figures . The Rigveda of Hinduism is proposed to have been composed between 1700–1100 BC[1] making it possibly the world's oldest religious text still in use. The oldest portions of the Zoroastrian Avesta are believed to have been transmitted orally for centuries before they found written form, and although widely differing dates for Gathic Avestan (the language of the oldest texts) have been proposed, scholarly consensus floats at around 1000 BCE.

From what I can see the Torah is the oldest known of the Hebrew religious writings...

Quote:
Jewish religious tradition ascribes authorship of the Torah to Moses through a process of divine inspiration. This view of Mosaic authorship is first found explicitly expressed in the Talmud, dating from the 3rd to the 6th centuries CE, and is based on textual analysis of passages in the Torah and the subsequent books of the Hebrew Bible. The Zohar, Vol. 11 Trumah Section 61 states that the Torah was created prior to the creation of the world, and that it was used as the blueprint for Creation.[citation needed] According to dating of the text by Orthodox rabbis the revelation of the Torah to Moses occurred in 1280 BCE at Mount Sinai.[citation needed] Contemporary secular biblical scholars date the completion of the Torah, as well as the prophets and the historical books, no earlier than the Persian period (539 to 334 BCE).[8] Scholarly discussion for much of the 20th century was principally couched in terms of the documentary hypothesis, according to which the Torah is a synthesis of documents from a small number of originally independent sources.

Even if we take the oldest possible dating, there are certainly other religious texts that are far older then the Hebrew texts. Do you have any data that suggests otherwise?
