My Russellite friend, Mike [his true name], has been trying for years to convert me to his CULT.
I give him latitude to do that, you see.
But he cannot answer some straight questions I always pose.
One of them is whether the converted Russellites in the “New Earth” will use TOILET PAPER to do the necessary cleaning.
He thinks I’m always mocking his “true religion” and refuses to help.
I told him the other day that toilet paper comes from a factory, which needs raw material and then mechanical transportation. Electricity is also indispensable in the process.
Therefore, I argue, the “New Earth” isn’t that new, I’m afraid.
Unless, I suggested, the RUSSELLITES in the “New Earth” do it like Jesus always did it.
Jesus was always confronted by the Pharisees for being unclean like a pig, and never washing his hands after defecating in the bush.
The next thing was to bless children with those contaminated hands, for goodness’ sake!
For the Pharisees that was the ultimate insult to their clean methods.
They observed Jesus and the disciples going around villages and counties dropping their faeces everywhere and next cleaning their backsides to grass and/or to their tunics.
That happened when Jesus performed the second miracle of the “multiplication of bread and fishes”, after a “seminar” of beatitudes for THREE DAYS (Matthew 15 – go check it).
After THREE DAYS of defecating behind a big rock, Jesus and the 12 disciples went to distribute bread and fish to FIVE THOUSAND brainwashed spectators (who also went behind trees to empty their bowels)!
I could tell you the rest, but leave you to imagine the Pharisees’ comments!

Wow- Jesus sure was a hippie!

Who exactly are the Russellites? I've never heard of them before.

Russellites are the followers of Charles Russell, the urban pest also known by the popular name of Jehovah's Witnesses!

And you say they believe in armageddon and judgement day and the 'kingdom come' thing? If they believe in New Earth, then they must not believe in the rapture like those crazy Baptists.

Indeed, but they'd never refer to themselves as Russellites, in fact, most JW’s would consider that label an insult. Most of them oddly believe their religion is a continuation of real Christianity, that somehow has been cloaked from all the other modern versions.

No, they do not believe in the so-called “Rapture”, nor do they like to be called by the derogative epithet “Russellites”.
My friend gets rather aggravated with my insult, because they have distanced themselves quite a lot from the original “Watch Tower” doctrine, etc.
But that they are a PEST taking advantage of democratic freedom to attack democracy and forecasting Armageddon to resolve the wickedness of mankind, oh yes they do.
I call my friend a religious hypocrite for walking the streets in peace while subversively opposing it!

Really? Once the Jehova's Witnesses came to my front door with pamphlets that had that watchtower shit all over it. By the way, what's the watchtower?

“Watchtower” was supposed to mean to watch for the coming of Christ and the end of the world, followed by the Battle of Armageddon, whatever (based on that word appearing in Isaiah 21).
I’m sure there is much material on the Internet about the very word connected to the JW’s.
They’ve been watching for the end of the world now for a century, and no [cheating] Christ has ever come.
As such, they are continuously changing and postponing the date.
Now, some reckon the year 2012 is it! Some asteroid or so will pulverize [part of] our planet infested with filth and perversion, as it were.
Then, a thousand years of peace, accordion playing and grass as toilet paper in some unaffected area.
I debate this stuff with Mike when he visits, and always ask him the question: WASN’T THERE A BETTER PLAN of your god?
Why did your god wait so long to incinerate humans, when he was supposed to know the end from the beginning?
Mike always offers his answer with a stuttering lesson.
He doesn’t know why Jehovah wouldn’t destroy the world when the problem was still small & manageable.
I told Mike the other day that those of us intelligent and daring will arrive at Jehovah’s presence to CONDEMN him for incompetence.
We will ask him the destructive question: Wasn’t there a better plan? Why did you have to kill millions of innocent children with nuclear bombs, when millennia back you could have stopped the human madness?
Will you join us in condemning your god of incompetence, I ask Mike? He gets red in the face and leaves. Genuine!
Weeks later he comes back with a handful of magazines to threaten me with Armageddon and eternal annihilation.
Russellites are not intelligent people.
As I said earlier, they are extremely subversive against democracy, because they walk the streets in peace and freedom to distribute magazines attacking the very fabric thereof, condemning all the freedom they enjoy, proclaiming the coming of a fictitious “Kingdom” promised two thousand years ago to Jews in Palestine!
I always tell Mike that his CULT is as dangerous and subversive as Roman Catholicism, the only difference being the number of adherents.
Would they have the popular support in a given nation or even town, they would be as dictatorial and criminal as the popes of the 15th century! Those two CULTS supported by Islamism and Protestantism have made this world the worst planet in the galaxy.
We could be a happy species, had it not been for religion, but praise God many are atheists, balancing out the religious madness.

There are many Baptist factions.
Some are even Arminianists, while the majority Calvinists, some only mildly, some extremely rabid.
One of them is Harold Camping (check the Internet), an octogenarian, profoundly contaminated with the worst case of Calvinist rabidity, the fanatic!!
Radio station here in Southern Africa (Johannesburg too) bombard the stupid and naive listener day and night with his utter crap.
He is, as far as I know an extremely delude Baptist or Presbyterian.
I once confronted him via email to point him out as a dangerous liar when it comes to explaining the Bible to those who phone in. He declined a debate.
His doctrinal crap is the very worst in matters of hermeneutics and interpretation of the Bible.
He lives somewhere in America (check his name on the Internet). But, sure, Russellites are even worse than Harold, mind you.
If they could they would forbid ALL blood transfusions to please his demented and deranged IDOL Jehovah.
Though JW’s are commonly peaceful folk, don’t you dare contradict their main Article of Faith”; by indoctrination, they are deeply contaminated with religious hatred and intolerance.
As I said earlier, if they had enough numbers of members to support their constitution, they would be as dangerous as Muslims and Catholics!
Why is the world plagued with such religious crusaders for generations without end [if we “worship” the same god, that is]?
You tell me, please.

Seems like somebody comes along who either thinks HE's got it right or wants to start a cult, add gullible people, and voila- you have a religious sect. For some reason, religious fanatics feel they have to convert everyone so that their 'true' religious prophesies can be fullfilled. At least, that's according to them. It is more likely that they are so emotional that they see opposing beliefs as threatening or evil. It might even be some other part of human nature- the part that wants to dominate.

Actually, Allah sounds a lot like the Yahweh who jumped out from behind a rock and tried to kill Moses or some such to me.

The people more often considered "Russelites" today is the group of JW congregations that broke away in 1916 because they rejected the doctrinal changes and increasing dictatorial powers of Joseph Rutherford and formed their own church in protest to the WT they are even called Russelites by JWs .

The Watchtower was not the centralized despotic autocracy that it is today back in Russel's time,Despite what is said in "WT" official history there was no governing body untill long after Russel death in the 1920's, Its main role before 1916 was that of a publishing house devoted entirely to printing and selling publications authored by Russel, Russel also wrote his own column in a local NYC newspaper.

At that time the Jws had freedom of thought and wouldn't face shunning for questioning any of the groups major beliefs in fact the individual congregations ran themselves independently.

Some of the central tenets such as objection of involvement in war originate from within the rank and file itself and not from the WT ruling body, Something that could never happen today. Many views held by Russel have been discarded as heretical namely the position of Zionism that can be seen in other fundamentalist churches at present.

If you read Russel's will , He explicitly forbid the creation of new publications not authored by himself to be printed after his death. It seems that he didn't want the movement to continue on if his last predicted dates did not come to pass. Its very unfortunate otherwise the cult would never have poisoned the lives of so many generations afterward and would have just died there.

The modern Russellites keep being a dangerous suburban PEST in any city; here in Johannesburg they do their rounds every weekend, disrupting families and destroying marital harmony – when one of the spouses falls in the trap and the other not. Their most sinister prong is to take advantage of the social peace around them to subversively attack it, teaching that their idol, Jehovah, is going to incinerate everything with Armageddon and next make a new earth, new heavens, a new moon, a new Mars, Venus, Europpa and all that, the idiots and hypocrites! I always ask them to explain why would Jehovah need to make new heavens, since everything was just fine over there the day before. They never give an intelligent answer, never. Try it.
Man, I get very aggravated with them, but I never run away from a confrontation, come what may, for they know no bible, apart from their typical isolated passages. I have studied the bible and these matters now for forty years, and they have no chance with me. They take less than a minute to start threatening me with Armageddon and all that crap, but I asked them what wrong did I do to any of them for that attack. Next I asked them if their idol Jehovah couldn’t have found a better solution sometime back, in place of Armageddon. Etc. They take no pleasure in talking with an intelligent person.

Told one the other day that he follows an incompetent god, since he had a Plan B in case Plan A failed. That’s why the new earth and new heavens. Why not make them new the very first time?! A Russellite is normally not intelligent; and gets quickly upset with rhetorical [silly] questions of this nature. It’s fun, and he doesn’t understand. Jehovah had serious problems in heaven, where Lucifer tried to gather the angels around him to install a proper democracy, one angel one vote, to get rid of dictatorial monarchism. He failed for now, but his chance will come again. Oh, the Russellite, how aggravated he gets with such heresy and blasphemy! Well, I get that too with his stupidity. Fair is fair.

Told him that the JWs are as dangerous as the Muslims, the difference being in the number of adherents. Had the Russellites had the necessary numbers, they would have enough political power to get access to lethal weapons to evangelise the world by force. For now, they walk the peaceful streets spreading their subversive literature, like Muslims do across the world chanting their offensive prayers. Armageddon is going to be needed to eliminate those suburban dangers, one would say. No, I prefer a peaceful method: cut them from any financial support. Never give even a cent to any of them. Nice?
