After seeing some vids from
Xenutv.com
, I'm pretty scared that I may have to encounter a Scientologist. |

Why should you be scared? Scientology is nothing more than a spinoff of nutcase L Ron Dumber. Just like Quanza stole its icon from Jew's Manorah.
It is nothing more than a newer version of Moronism combined with Area 51, Dungeons and Dragons geeks. Roswell meets Bethleham. It is nothing but E.T. meets the manger. Garbage, is garbage.
BTW, in my version of voodoo, I dont read your future by rolling bones, I look into the toilet after I take a crap, and depending upon size shape and color, I can predict when your soul will be picked up by the flying saucer hiding within the rings of Saturn. Marshal Applewhite was a phoney and stole his idea from me. |

We take it serioulsly only in the sense that it is a worldwide political power Scientology by comparisson is a drop in the bucket. But no, we atheists dont take hocus pokus claims of any kind seriously. We do however, take the fact that others believe superstion seriously, we take that seriously because we think humanity can do much better than inserting fictional answers into gaps of knowlege.
Ratio wise we debate Christians more because that is who we run into the most. But superstition is superstition, be it ouiji boards, or Loc Ness, or Jesus surviving rigor mortis after 3 days. |

The scary part about humanity, is that if the vast majority of humans go uneducated, it would not suprise me in the least, if 1,000 years from now people were worshiping J.K. Rolling as a prophet and Harry Potter as a god.
It wouldnt surpise me if people worshiped Luke Skywalker as real. |

Some do, or at least follow his religion. What's scary about scientologists is not what they believe, but how they behave. The church sanctions some very unethical practices. And it revels in it's reputation of doing harm to those who would speak out against it. The best way to debate scientologists is to educate yourself on cults. Then explain how cults behave to the scientologist and ask them how similar their church is. The biggest cult sign is the severance of non cult relationships, so that your only social support structure is cult based. But there are many others. |

This guy would probably be more credible if he didn't curse so much. That makes him sound less intelligent. |

A "cult" is a wannabe religion.
A cult becomes a religion through marketing. All the major three were at one time "cults". How one can study the history of humanity and find a divine god, instead of mundane tribalism passed of as magic in this day and age confounds me.
The three trouble makers today globaly have "peace" on their mind. But when one looks at the global objective, it always comes with the price tag of "We can have peace as long as I am in charge".
It is not that I dissagree about peace, but I dont like a authoritarian approach. Peace is better than war. It is that they mistake their super hero as being centeral to the living standards of all, even those who dont agree.
Name me a Christian, Muslim, Scientologist, Buddhist, or Jew who doesn't have to take a shit and I will bow to that god right now. |

The difference between a religion and a cult is a few hundred years. We don't worry about $cientology as much because there are so few scientologists. It is really obvious that the church is what it is, and it's beliefs are so obviously full of crap that they need no refutation. |

There is no reason to be afraid of 'encountering' a scientologist. They have no supernatural powers to make you do anything, to harm you or remove your willpower. They are average people, such as you and me. People were killed for being Christian in the beginning. There are STILL people who think that it is wrong, look at how many religions there are out there! Nobody believes the same thing. People are scared of new things, and when people get scared they try to destroy whatever it is. If you heard there was a rumor going on about your best friend at school, would you believe it because everyone said it was true? Or would you find out for yourself? It is the same with this. You dont know if any of this is true until you find out for yourself instead of surfing biased websites, for or against. |

You're wrong. They have super litigation powers. Super underhanded harass their enemies powers. And they don't need to take away your willpower because they target those who don't have any. Just look over one of their questionnaires for proof.
"Do you have trouble making your own decisions?"
"Do you do what other people tell you without asking questions?"
"Will you cave in when even a moderate amount of social pressure is applied?" |
