Thanks for the support all. That other guy is a fucking idiot!
I was working but discovered that if I did I could no longer dedicate myself to ig.com. I wasn't saying I'm working another job now.
As far as a "Real job". Please explain what that entails? I have a product people buy and it's legal. So.. what's fake about it.
Dude.. just **** it.

I am encouraged that Reggie has to work a real job and am amused at his complaint that atheists don't contribute as well as religious people.
Surrounded as I am on this campus by jeering atheists, I see that a lot of what they have been pushing is a hypocritical load of crap.
Well I'm going to go ahead and add my reply to the sea of responses and hope it doesn't get lost in the tide. Reggie, you have really helped me grow in ways you cannot ever truly know. When I discovered IG almost 3 years ago it blew me away. The discussions on the show and forums exposed me to things that I might never have. It sent me in a direction that I did not anticipate and its been rewarding and challenging all at once.
I think anyone who devotes themselves to a cause like Reggie has ultimately suffers hardships as a result of the sacrifices involved. I've been a gold member for 2+ years for the purpose of not only enjoying the content Reggie provided but more so for helping the cause, helping get the message out.
My personal message to you Reggie if you happen to read this is. I know we haven't met, you have never seen my face, heard my voice and know little about me. I also do not know much about you other than what you have revealed here with us. And regardless of these facts you have managed to be a huge influence in my life. I see the world much differently then I had before, I have grown in a way I cannot truly convey to you. The journey you help get me started on has been amazing. I feel like all facets of my life have improved due to the exposure of all the different forms of thought on here.
I know it might sound a bit overblown to some, but is true. I never knew what philosophy truly was until I got here, and learning that alone has liberated me intellectually. Alot of what I have been exposed to here has changed me, and I wonder often what person would I be had I not encounter IG that fateful day. I really hope one day you can truly realize how you have positively affected people. Thank you Reggie, I shall continue to support you as my token of gratitude for what you do.

Ahnu

Hi Ilyanov,
Oh the warmth of someone who claims to follow a person who said "Love your enemies!" That warmth is really glowing!
BTW, The site is taking off, sadly not in a way that benefits IG's finances. Stick around kid and see the fireworks.
Also, I thought God was on your side, so why where you feeling discouraged? Your not suffering from depression after the Ted Haggart farce are you? Naughty guy, paying a male prostitute for sex and taking drugs as well - what a naughty hypocritical Christian he is!
I guess 2 Cor 5: 17 "Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new." is simply another gospel lie.

Being self-emplyed is a real job, it is better then a real job as it means he is not answerable to some idiot in a suit

You mean your finally mixing with educated people and discovering that your world view does not impress.
Never mind, may be an edeucation will set you free, since Jesus obviously has not set you free, after all he did say "Judge not, and you will not be judged."

I see you have lost your WWJD bracelet. By the way, there are two views on religion growing in America. Fundamentalism and Atheism. I bet we out live the next election when it comes to influence, not so sure your lot will.
Have a nice day

Hi rickcopeland648
I love your signature

I especially hate it when people call obediance a virtue, that is a 'virtue' that leads to Auswitch!
'Obediance' and 'discipline 'are words that I hate! Guess that explains my dislike of religion.

I suffer from internet addiction. It's something that's hard to explain to people, but I feel it can be as addictive as any kind of substance abuse. The thing is that the internet is good for doing your business but it can be used as a replacement for the emotional or physical voids in your life. I don't have any close friends where we have chemistry with each other, so #1 the internet is a way of replacing what normal people find in relationships. Music is a #2 addiction for me.
I had to ponder on this because I realized that too much can be too much. What I've done to overcome this is:
Go out more. I do that a lot, but that's just to escape what I need to do at home (tidying up, doing bills and paperwork, making a home)
Help other friends out so they can help me. This ended up me being used because my other friends didn't have the same concept of reciprocation. I don't know why I can help others better than myself, but I think it has to do with my OCD at home. A couple of times inviting a friend over worked, but I couldn't get them to agree to do it once or twice a week.
Hiring a maid. This actually worked out best. My last maid was awesome. I paid her $20/hr to help me organize my paperwork and reorganize my room. Too bad I'm not rich and money seems to be the real motivator! Anyways a maid is one of the best investments in my personal life. The productivity gains are well worth it. I just need a somebody over so it breaks me from my OCD cycle.
Get a gf/bf. I am very open and honest and very respectful of people's desires and needs, so it ends up where I have no "chemistry" with the person. Sex is the least important factor in a relationship. It is getting along and complementing each other in their shortcomings. Empathy, respect, cooperation and some of my highest values in a relationship, and that's damn hard to find.
Last but not least, I asked the help of my parents. I do not get along with them at all, but I figured that it was the last resort and if I need a "somebody" I can't discriminate against them if they are willing to help. It actually worked out well yesterday, so I've got past a hurdle.
The lifestyle that I live is very difficult, but it's one where I can live honestly with myself and allows a lot of freedom. Freedom has a price. If you want to set out and accomplish something that is against the normal flow of things, you will have to pay a price.
Take for example Howard Stern. How did he become successful? He had to work for it and pay the price for the freedom he enjoys today. It's not easy and there is no guarantee of success. It's like an actor trying to make it big in Hollywood. I thought that Reggie had the same potential, but not the right connections to make it into the limelight. That is why I am here supporting his site. I haven't contributed a single dollar to his fund, but I'm here by supporting the forums and spreading the word around the internet. Look at the legacy of Richard Dawkins. It took him a long time to get where he is today. Sometimes its about timing and luck, but being passionate in what you do is probably the biggest factor in having a successful life.
