Hello, I'm here because I'm not sure what to believe and what not to believe. Some things on the religion side I agree with and some I don't. Some things on the atheist side I agree with and some I don't. I'd like to say that I'm not on anyone's side but there's not a 3rd option I suppose. |

Welcome Agnostic Joe!
Agnosticism, unfortunately, isn't really a middle ground. Either you believe in a god or you don't. If you aren't sure, you still don't believe. To believe, is to believe. There is no middle ground.
Example: I'm not sure if alien intelligence exists in the Universe. I'm agnostic on it. I don't believe they do either for if I did, I'd just say I believe in them. I am therefore a kind of aalienist as well.
Atheism says, I don't believe.
Agnosticism says, I don't know
Theism, says, I do believe
Gnostic Theism says, I do know
The problem of course is that if you don't know, then you can't believe. Still an atheist. We call this, (agnostic atheism). Now if you force yourself to believe, even if you don't know, you become an "agnostic theist". I think most believers actually fall into this category, they just don't choose to admit it.
Knowledge and belief are the artifacts that determine where one falls. Honesty about our empirical limitations will lead us closer to the truth.
