How much footage of rockets and space shuttles does one have to see on the news on every channel, both liberal and conservative media, does one have to see to know the moon landing was real.
ANY moron who would say it wasn't is delusional and deserves to be put in a mental institution.
EVEN "Myth Busters" has taken this absurd claim on. People who make these claims need meds.
It is an issue that deserves to die and only belongs in a museum named, "Bullshit people used to believe" along side displays of flat earths and creationism and alchemy and big foot. Only as a reminder of how stupid humans can be sometimes.
These are in the same nut category as the "birthers" who go around claiming Obama wasn't born American. The same nut group who think Oswald had help, and the same nutty types who drank the cool aid in JonesTown.
Our species has always had members who make bullshit claims. People are capable of believing in the absurd.
We went to the moon and that is a FACT, there won't be any amount of bullshit that will change that. I hope you didn't expect a long thread because the answer is short and there is no need to say anything else.

My take on the Moon hoax, Daredevil?
Ok then, I'll say two things about it, distinguishing between the points by color.
First, one of my uncles is a lunar dis-believer. He and I stopped debating this issue decades ago. I called a halt when it became obvious to me that he was only interested in 'evidence' that supported his conspiracy obsession. Anything else was part of the conspiracy. For the record, his personality type is what I'd call 'fertile ground' for this kind of borderline paranoia. Here's a brief description.
Stubborn by nature, in some cases beyond the point of reason. His cussedness has gotten him into trouble with his neighbors, his clients (he's a builder) , the local authorities (over planning permission, boundary disputes, etc.) and anyone else who disagrees with him. The bottom line for all of these disputes is that he's
always
in the right and they're
always
in the wrong. The lengths he'll go to, to get himself vindicated over even the smallest issue, beggars belief.
Suspicious and distrustful of authority figures. Because the starting point for all his views are that he's always got the correct one, anyone in authority who disagrees with him is automatically put on his list of '
those-****'s-who-are-out-to-get-him
'. Try telling him that they've got more important things to do with their time than persecute him? Been there and done that. So have his first and second wives and his grown up kids from both marriages. Provided 'they' (authority figures) don't mess with him, he's happy, but if he's got fall in line with something he doesn't agree with, their names get added to his list.
Draws irrational conclusions about trivial and unrelated events. My uncle believes that life owes him something. The trouble is, when life doesn't deliver, it's always part of a greater plan to keep him down. He'll cite whatever he perceives as clear evidence for this from any source - tv, radio, the Internet, the papers, etc. He can spot these 'signs' when another person, reading the same article or listening to the same broadcast, see and hears nothing significant. Guess what? If they can't see the patterns he sees, this puts them under the spotlight of his suspicion too.
In conclusion, I've come to the realize that he respects no other p.o.v. other than his own or those who agree with him on certain issues. As such, rational and reasoned dialog with him is impossible. Negotiation, compromise and respect for the values of others simply aren't options. They make change and learning and improvement possible - if you are open to such things. If you aren't, what's the point? You are doomed to repeat the same modes of behavior again and again, learning nothing from them. If you expect things to turn out one way and they don't, but it's never your fault, then your only option is to falsely conclude that others are conspiring against you. You are an incurable who is as 'locked-in' to a unhealthy cycle of behavior as any substance addict.
Secondly, given all of the above, here's my take on how dyed-in-the-wool Moon hoaxers will respond to what they perceive as contrary evidence.
If shown images of the Apollo landing sites (complete with LEM lower stages, parked rovers and rover tyre tracks) taken from Lunar orbit by recent probes, they'll say...
"
Those are just fakes, created by image specialists employed by NASA/the CIA/the FBI/whoever, expressly for the purpose of hoodwinking us all."
If shown the Moon rocks brought back by the Apollo astronauts, they'll say...
"Fakes! Just like everything else. Probably dug up from Gov't run mines and exposed to radiation in military nuclear reactors to simulate being on the lunar surface for aeons."
If shown the microscopic scars left by cosmic rays on the spacesuit helmets, proving that the astronauts were exposed to radiation found only in deep space, they'll say...
"Nope! I don't buy it. Those helmets were bombarded by the output of particle accelerators here on Earth to simulate the effects of a deep space journey."
If taken to the observatories that bounce laser light off the ALSEP reflectors left by the Apollo astronauts and shown the lasers at work, they'll just say...
"This doesn't prove that men went to the Moon. Those reflectors could have been soft-landed by robot probes like Surveyor. Men have NOT walked on the Moon!"
If they speak with anyone in the Apollo space program, be they astronauts, mission scientists, rocket engineers, ground technicians, test pilots, manufacturers or anyone else - guess what the response will be?
"You are ALL in this conspiracy and cannot be trusted."
If shown...
If taken to...
If presented with...
Shall I carry on, Daredevil?
Not much point is there? These incurables don't see themselves as being wrong, misinformed, ill, dysfunctional, out-of-whack or anything else that needs fixing. As far as they're concerned
we're
the ones who need a reality readjustment.
So there you have it. For what it's worth, that's my take on the Moon hoax.
Thanks,
BAA.

It's already been stated but the simplest and most entertaining way to get an overall background on the conspiracy theorists' pathetic "evidence" and a subsequent visual debunking is that Mythbusters episode. Find that episode, watch it and you will know all you need to know.
