This is the problem that I have with our McDonalds media.
He has only been arrested at this point. AND especially with "she said he said" cases, SHOULD make it harder to convict.
YOUR initial emotional response IS normal, not even on a religious level, but on a parent protecting youth level, which is evident in evolution.
I warn you, as I would any theist, from jumping to conclusions because you don't like the fact that they believe. THE fact that they believe doesn't make them guilty.
It is not you, but our society that I am concerned about long term.
With all this quick access to "claims" combined with natural human emotion, we are not recoginzing the affect this will have on jury pools LONG TERM.
Your job as a juror, is not to play favorites. Your job as a juror is not to convict based on the nature of the charge.
Think about it. If it were an atheist accused of the same thing, would you blindly emotionally react, or would you do the right thing and say, " lets seek out the facts"
If conviction were solely based on "LOOK AT WHAT THEY WERE CHARGED WITH" we could all spend the rest of our lives making up shit about people we don't like in order to murder them.

I know I am dipping in lava here, but even so it's CNN, they wrote that he is convicted. I am over fifty, and a so called dirty old man, but you don't have to take underage. Why would anyone take a girl across a state line? To get her to school? Let's say they played with consent, he as the leader should know better. And if you must have a virgin, go muslem, you get over seventy all for yourself, so I heard

i saw the story on some other new sites but I forgot which so I just grabbed CNN. There are so many people who do this on a daily basis, but its funny when it a religious leader it makes national headlines.
Actually thinking about it they are held to a high responsibility because of what they do, especially to children. So I suppose it makes sense.

Justice in a democracy depends on assuming innocence until proven guilty, no matter who is on trial.
