Reggie, do as you must to survive, but I hope you do not have to do this option.
My financial situation isn't much better, car engine went bad and my pay is stagnant. I too would love to have options. Keep looking, but know that I understand if you do have to re-enlist. Stay safe my friend. *hugs* |

I just joined, but I listened to you at length on youtube. You are obviously very intelligent and capable. I am so sorry you are having to deal with these issues. You, me and so many others are struggling right now. With your experience and talent producing your own internet show you might be able to find work in another part of the country. Maybe you've already tried that avenue, but if not it's something else to consider. Whether it's the military or moving up north or to California, you're still looking at a major move. However, moving will not so drastically increase the risk of being killed or injured! |

I just found this podcast, it's one of the best out there. Reggie, I hope something comes up. I don't understand why a good job would be so hard to find for you. |

Reardon, more and more employers are googling prospective employees. I have a feeling that my activism might be getting in the way.
Now I'm even more desperate for this show to work. The Army in still having some trouble getting some documents to see if I'm eligible to re-enlist.
If I can't get into the military.. I don't know what I'm going to do. This is my first time being seriously afraid that I can end up homeless. |

Thanks for the reply Reggie.
I live in Canada so I guess I am not familiar with the situation in the States. Apart from some isolated communities, if you were to tell someone here you are an atheist, the reply would be "so what?"
I encourage anyone who has enjoyed even couple shows free of charge to make a contribution. No free lunches.
Homeless? This is obviously very serious. I am not sure what to say. I hope more immediate support from the community (online and physical) is on the way. |

Reggie, my lease runs out next month. Before I renew it, I could switch to a bigger apartment and have you be my roommate for an 18 month lease. I will be stuck in Vegas for at least that much longer. |

Reggie,
If you think that your activism is hurting you in the job market, have you considered applying for an alias with a new federal tax ID number to go with it? Perhaps that might help. |

I have considered this. Unsure how to go about it.. or if I even wish to do such a thing. I have a family and kids too.
I am now selling everything I own except clothes and my computer.
I am trying to get on board with the Atlanta Police at the same time trying to go back into the Service.
I'll keep you posted. I really don't wish to get deployed to Iraq or Afghanistan.. but I have a feeling I will if I go back in.
I'm just trying to feed my family, provide medical for them and give them a future. Obviously, my show has failed to support my family.. so.. I just don't have much choice. At this point, I'm damn near begging for them to take me back in. Even though I know I could die.
Well.. at least they'll have the life insurance money. |

If Barack gets elected it probably won't be Iraq, but his pre-presidency rethoric sounds like he wants to mess with Afghanistan and perhaps Pakistan. Let's hope it's just rethoric.
At any rate, I hope something comes through for you soon Reg. If I wasn't taking care of my 91-year-old mom I'd also offer up my place for you to stay until you got something to work out. You have lots of friends out here Reg, take heart in that |

Hey IG, Are there any things as far as clothing or household items that you may need at the moment? If so, please feel free to contact me at hairston39539@yahoo.com if you want to keep things somewhat confidential. Im fairly new to your forum but ive been listening to quite alot of shows in the past and I have to say that this site has helped open my eyes to things I could never see on my own. Thank you for the hard work and edification that youve provided through this site of yours and you have a whole community of people who are here supporting you in your time of troubles |

I take it you've written to every broadcaster in the land?
Hell, Howard stern might take you on board?
There's a huge industry for digital radio etc.. can one of them get you on board on a discussion prog?
Even if you promise to stay away from politics and religion.. (though we all know that'd be a loss)
But my personal advise..
NEVER give up...
You can couchsurf (www.couchsurfing.com) for many months, there are dozens, if not 100's of willing folk here happy to put you up, store stuff etc, while you get back on your feet..
Hell, even start a kitty to buy a caravan if you must, but you're not alone, you're not at bottom, far from it, you don't live in a war torn country, you're not sick.. and god loves you.. (apparently ;-p ) more importantly, your kids do...
Big hugs man... you've helped us all...
worst case, move to London and crash at mine..
Keep us posted!!!

I don't wanna sound patronising..
but a quick google turned up this:
http://bestradiojobs.com/category/georgia.html
You could surely be a producer.. 10 years experience, plus your online speciality would be a benefit to many people..
I'll keep thinking..
