Hi Folks,

I've avoided posting this on the front page because, being a UU myself, I question my ability to be completely Objective. That being said, here is some coverage of the Shootings from Knoxnews.com Make up your own minds -Shinai

More than 200 people were packed Sunday into the sanctuary at Tennessee Valley Unitarian Universalist Church, lured by the charm of a children's musical, when shotgun blasts resonated through the building.

The 10:18 a.m. shooting left two people dead, seven injured and a 58-year-old Powell man in jail charged with first-degree murder.

"We have been touched by a horrible act of violence," said TVUUC minister the Rev. Chris Buice.

Killed in the attack were 61-year-old Linda Kraeger and Greg McKendry, 60. Kraeger is a member of the Westside Unitarian Universalist Church in West Knox County and was visiting TVUUC because of the performance of "Annie Jr.!"

Knoxville police charged Jim David Adkisson of Levy Lane in Powell with first-degree murder. He was ordered held on $1 million bond at the Knox County Detention Facility pending a court hearing. Authorities weren't releasing a motive Sunday and said to their knowledge he had no connection to the church.
