(User Info | Send a Message) http://www.robertreppert.com | The fundamentalists I've known (mostly Baptists, some Pentecostals, never Lutherans or Catholics) were always stone cold against the possibility of aliens. Some said they might exist but that their god wouldn't let them to come to earth and be tainted by sin (so I guess the cross work didn't do what John 3:16 said it did afterall).
The reason the church in general has been up and down this issue is because their most important doctrine - Sin - actually is not as clear as they claim it to be. The understanding of sin/Sin is precisely what continues to divide even the various protestant churches up let alone the Jews from all of them. |
